Rev. Jerry Ray Burns, Sr.
"Man of God"
Pastor & Prophet Jerry Ray Burns, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday - The Lord's Day - February 1, 2009.  Bro. Burns was mightily anointed of God to preach the message of life, dominion over unclean spirits, and the anointing of the Holy Ghost.  He functioned powerfully in the ministries of divine healing and deliverance.  He was one of the few true prophets of God speaking in the earth today.  His presence will be greatly missed, but his anointing remains strong through the ministry of his son, Pastor Jay Burns.

Bro. Burns was a true "Man of God".  His life exemplified one overriding and overpowering principle:  "Put God First."  Every decision, every interaction, every motive...at home, at church, in the streets...with his family, with friends, with strangers...Bro. Burns put God first in all things.  God used Bro. Burns - showed Himself strong in his life - as he lived 1 Timothy 6:11-12.... 
-  He followed after Righteousness.
-  He followed after Godliness.
-  He followed after Faith, Patience, Meekness.
-  He fought the Good Fight of Faith.
-  He laid hold on Eternal LIFE!
-  He professed a Good Profession before MANY witnesses.

Bro. Burns enjoyed being in full time ministry for over 45 years. After graduating from Southwestern Assemblies of God College in 1965 and being ordained as an Assemblies of God preacher, he ministered effectively at:

-  Mobile Tabernacle Ministries  Fresno, CA                1976-1983
-  Lakehill Assembly of God      North Little Rock, AR  1983-1990
-  Harvest Fellowship Church    North Little Rock, AR  1990-2007
-  Covenant of Life                 Conway, AR              2007-2009
-  Plus...various Revivals, Campmeetings, Conferences, and Crusades
  throughout the nation.

Bro. Burns was a tremendous husband/father/grandfather, wise mentor, faithful friend, and spiritual giant.  We'll miss his quick wit, sense of humor, love of life, infectious joy, gracious hospitality, and effectual fervent prayer.  His anointing, mercy, grace, and deep love of the Holy Ghost changed us all.  Hallelujah!
